This October, Sotheby’s is offering a fine selection of Russian Works of Art, including a Fabergé enamel and rock crystal study of a violet as well as important objects from Fabergé workmasters Henrik Wigström, Michael Perchin and others. Highlights include an important Lanceray bronze, “Sviatoslav on the Way to Tsaregrad” as well as a selection of important icons.
Collectors of silver will find an offering of impressive and livable works including English Georgian and Victorian silver, 19th century American silver, Spanish Colonial items, gold boxes and a large selection of Jensen pieces. Highlights include a group of six exceptionally engraved German beakers from 17th century Nuremberg, a Martelé fish platter by Gorham Mfg. Co. chased thematically with dolphins, octopi, shells and putti, and an impressive Austrian silver-gilt and crystal table garniture from the collection of the Countess Octavia Rzyszczewska-Radziwill, circa 1890.
